Reporting to the Yard Supervisor the successful candidate will work as part of the Goods Inward / Outwards site team.
Working Monday - Friday (8.00am 5.00pm and 6.00pm 6.00am) with a 60 minute break, paid working day of 8.5 hours.
Purpose / Objective
To control and inspect the incoming supplies of flexible polythene raw material in the form of bales or reels of film, by unloading in a safe and timely manner. Storing the said material in an organised and co-ordinated manner for ease of access and availability, whilst maintaining good housekeeping and health and safety practices.
Main Duties / Responsibilities
(1)Forward plan the shift by identifying the scheduled deliveries and collections via the Outlook Calendar, amending the calendar as is necessary when changes to the schedule arise where applicable.
(2)On arrival of incoming goods to the site, inspect and unload the delivery vehicles through the use of a counter balance forklift truck and place product into storage or distribute to the appropriate department as is necessary.
(3)Ensure the booking in procedure is followed when accepting any incoming goods, using the weighbridge to provide accurate weights (if applicable) if the load consists of either scrap or pellet.
(4)Ensure all collections from site are loaded safely, weighed and documented.
(5)Be able to identify qualifying packaging waste and ensure it is weighed and recorded separately.
(6)Supporting the shift operators in the movement of all waste material and finished products between all departments.
(7)In conjunction with the Shift Manager / Reclaim Team Leader / DPC Production Planner facilitate the required movement of stocks.
(8)Driving of forklift trucks internally and externally, ensuring that safe driving is followed at all times and that daily checks to the trucks are completed and documented.
(9)Where required load trailers for despatch palletised or not, ensuring the goods correspond with the documentation for the said lorry and that loads are safe for transportation.
(10) As part of the team and under the instruction of the Planning Manager, participate in the stock check of raw materials on a monthly basis or as is deemed necessary.
(11) As part of efficient stock control carry out stock rotation routinely or specifically through natural usage.
(12) Strive for continuous improvement in an ever-changing environment, communicating suggestions to your superiors where applicable.
(13) Maintain a high level of housekeeping, ensuring all areas are safe and tidy. Ensure that differing wastes are segregated and disposed of correctly. Routinely inspect the site at the start and throughout the working day with the intention of implementing the necessary actions to tidy the site.
(14) Follow safe working procedures to ensure accidents injury or otherwise are not incurred. Ensure PPE is worn at all times.
(15) Follow reasonable requests made of you, co-operate with colleagues and superiors at all times and provide support to other departments / sections as deemed necessary and appropriate.
(16) Ensure all tasks are carried out effectively and efficiently.
(17) To assist and support for other yard team members to cover sickness and holidays.
