Day Engineer – Dumfries

As part of our world-class, performance-focused team you will have the opportunity to work withinin a small engineering team at the Recycling and Manufacturing site at Dumfries.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, working Monday Friday 8am 4.30pm for a 37.5 hour week.

Duties & Responsibilities:

To provide effective maintenance, with installation and removal of site machinery when applicable.

Follow and encourage HSE and standard company practices.

Ensure all breakdowns are dealt with promptly and efficiently.

Fully engage with the operations team to provide proactive support to the plant and equipment.

Perform maintenance tasks as part of planned maintenance or as directed by the Engineering Manager.

Understand the importance of accurate and clear written records, maintaining documents to a high standard

Provide an out of hours on call service

Participation in regular audits and inspections

Use initiative and confidently make sound decisions quickly based on knowledge, experience and best practice.

Regular and clear communication with the Engineering Manager, Supervisor and other key site people.

Qualifications:

HNC or degree level qualification in an Engineering discipline

Proven track record in production engineering

Excellent problem solving and fault diagnosis skills

Proficient in IT, including word, excel and outlook

Experience of H&S Risk Assessments, writing safe working procedures and issuing work permits
