The Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead teams responsible for delivering essential rail and civil engineering projects on the Western route. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Leadership: Overseeing multiple site locations, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and budget.
- Safety & Compliance: Upholding all health, safety, and environmental standards in line with regulations and company policies.
- Project Oversight: Managing resources, timelines, and quality controls to meet project objectives.
- Stakeholder & Subcontractor Management: Coordinating with external partners to maintain safety standards and efficiency.
- Progress Monitoring: Tracking project milestones, resolving issues, and adjusting plans as needed.
- Contract Management: Negotiating changes and managing contractual relationships.
- Reporting & Business Development: Providing regular updates and identifying opportunities for future growth.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading rail and civil engineering projects, particularly line-side infrastructure works, fibre cabling, and associated civils. Key requirements include:
- Rail & Civils experience: Demonstrable success managing rail infrastructure projects, with knowledge of civils and telecoms installation.
- Technical Qualifications: Degree/HNC/HND in civil engineering or equivalent, with relevant industry experience.
- Rail Industry Accreditation: CRE sign-off or mentoring towards CRE approval.
- Telecoms & Power Cables: Experience with fibre optic, FTN, or power cable installation.
- Certifications: PTS, SMSTS, and other relevant health and safety certifications.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead teams, manage contractors, and promote a culture of safety and excellence.
