The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise across mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines, sound commercial awareness, and a proven track record managing projects from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, controls, hydraulic specialists).
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, change control, and commercial risk.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, programme plans, and progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements, including early warnings, compensation events, and risk registers.
  • Conduct technical reviews, ensuring engineering solutions meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Act as the principal point of contact for clients, stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Lead project meetings, technical workshops, and site coordination activities.
  • Promote and maintain strong H&S culture—including safe systems of work, RAMS, and CDM compliance.
  • Oversee FATs, SATs, commissioning, and integration of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems.

Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or another relevant engineering discipline.
  • Professional registration (CEng, IEng, or working towards) is advantageous.
  • Project management accreditation (APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent) preferred.

Personal Attributes

  • Strong problem‐solving ability and technical judgment.
  • Highly organised with excellent planning and coordination skills.
  • Confident decision‐maker who can operate under pressure.
