Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver complex Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects focused on moving structures, such as bridges, gates, lifting mechanisms, or other large-scale motion-enabled infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise across mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines, sound commercial awareness, and a proven track record managing projects from concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead endâtoâend delivery of M&E engineering projects involving moving structures, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality targets are met.
- Oversee design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, controls, hydraulic specialists).
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, change control, and commercial risk.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, programme plans, and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements, including early warnings, compensation events, and risk registers.
- Conduct technical reviews, ensuring engineering solutions meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Act as the principal point of contact for clients, stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers.
- Lead project meetings, technical workshops, and site coordination activities.
- Promote and maintain strong H&S cultureâincluding safe systems of work, RAMS, and CDM compliance.
- Oversee FATs, SATs, commissioning, and integration of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems.
Qualifications
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or another relevant engineering discipline.
- Professional registration (CEng, IEng, or working towards) is advantageous.
- Project management accreditation (APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent) preferred.
