The Opportunity

We are looking for Semi Skilled Operatives to join our growing Scotland Civil Engineering team, supporting the delivery of major power infrastructure projects across the country.

This opportunity comes as a result of significant growth within our strategic framework portfolio with SP Energy Networks (SPEN), with over 12 months of secured works already programmed and a strong pipeline of future projects.

Initially based on a major scheme in Lockerbie, you'll form part of a skilled civils team delivering essential infrastructure that supports Scotland's energy network. Following completion of the initial works, there will be opportunities to move onto other projects across our wider Scotland portfolio.

Our Scotland Civils Business

Our Scotland civils team delivers a diverse range of infrastructure projects for major clients including SPEN and other utility providers. Current and upcoming projects include:

• Substation civils and power infrastructure works
• Ducting and cable installation
• Drainage and reinforced concrete structures
• Access roads and earthworks
• Structures and general civil engineering projects
• Utilities and infrastructure upgrades

With a strong order book and secured framework agreements, this is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and expanding team with long-term career prospects.

The Role

As a Semi Skilled Operative, you will support the safe and efficient delivery of civil engineering works on site, working closely with Supervisors, Foremen and Site Management teams.

Typical duties will include:

• General civil engineering and groundwork activities
• Installation of ducting and drainage systems
• Kerbing and finishing works
• In-situ concrete placement
• Reinforcement installation
• Formwork activities
• Assisting plant operations and lifting activities
• Working safely in accordance with site procedures and risk assessments
• Maintaining high standards of quality, housekeeping and productivity
• Reporting any safety concerns, near misses or site issues
• Supporting colleagues to ensure works are completed safely and on programme

About You

We are keen to hear from individuals with experience in civil engineering, construction, utilities or infrastructure environments.

Essential

• CSCS Card
• Experience working on civil engineering or groundwork projects
• Strong commitment to health, safety and quality standards
• Reliable, hardworking and team-oriented approach
• Willingness to travel and work across Scotland as projects require

Experience In Any Of The Following Would Be Advantageous

• Kerbing
• Drainage installation
• Ducting works
• Concrete works
• Reinforcement fixing
• Formwork
• Utility or power infrastructure projects

Desirable Qualifications

While not essential, the following competencies would be highly beneficial:

• Telehandler
• Dumper
• Roller
• Slinger Signaller
• Plant Vehicle Marshall
