Amco Giffen is a leading infrastructure services company delivering projects across the UK's aviation sector.

Due to continued growth, the expansion of our Birmingham Airport framework, planned winter works at Leeds Bradford Airport, and increasing client demand, we are looking to recruit a Cutting & Coring Apprentice to join our specialist Aviation team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience whilst working towards a nationally recognised NVQ Level 2 in Diamond Drilling & Sawing through an 18-month apprenticeship programme.

You'll earn while you learn, working on live airport projects and building the foundations for a long-term career within the civil engineering and aviation sectors.

About the Role

, you will support a range of specialist airside maintenance and infrastructure activities, including:

  • Saw cutting of asphalt and concrete surfaces.
  • Diamond drilling and coring operations.
  • Joint preparation and sealing works.
  • Concrete and Maxicrete repair works.
  • Assisting skilled operatives on airside civil engineering projects.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment.
  • Learning to operate specialist cutting and coring equipment.
  • Participating in site briefings, toolbox talks and permit systems.
  • Working in line with strict health, safety and quality standards.

Following successful completion of your apprenticeship, opportunities will be available to support projects across the wider Aviation business, including airports such as Birmingham, Manchester and Stansted.

Apprenticeship Programme

As part of this role, you will undertake

  • NVQ Level 2 in Diamond Drilling & Sawing
  • 18-month apprenticeship programme.
  • Structured practical and classroom-based learning.
  • Mentoring from experienced aviation and specialist operatives.
  • Development of technical skills within a highly specialised industry.
  • Opportunity to progress into qualified Cutting & Coring Operative positions upon successful completion.
