Amco Giffen is a leading infrastructure services business delivering critical projects across the UK's aviation sector.
As part of our expanding Aviation division, we are seeking a skilled Cutting & Coring Operative to support significant airside enhancement works at Leeds Bradford Airport, with future opportunities to work on projects at major airports including Birmingham, Manchester and Stansted.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operative who enjoys working within a specialist civil engineering environment and wants to be part of a growing national aviation team.
The Role
Working under the direction of site management, you will undertake a variety of specialist concrete cutting, coring and repair activities as part of the airport's winter works programme.
Key activities will include
- Saw cutting of concrete and asphalt pavements.
- Diamond drilling and coring operations.
- Joint preparation and sealing works.
- Maxicrete and concrete repair activities.
- Supporting airside civil engineering and maintenance projects.
- Operating specialist cutting and coring equipment safely and effectively.
- Ensuring all work is completed to required quality, safety and programme standards.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Participating in site briefings, permit systems and safety initiatives.
Following the completion of the Leeds Bradford Airport winter works programme, you will have the opportunity to support aviation projects nationwide at major airports across the UK.
What We’re Looking For
We’re keen to hear from candidates who have
Essential
- Experience in concrete cutting, coring, drilling or related specialist construction activities.
- Experience working on civil engineering, highways, infrastructure or aviation projects.
- Strong commitment to health, safety and quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and willingness to follow site procedures.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to obtain an Airside Pass, including a 5-year checkable employment history and Basic Disclosure check.
Desirable
- CSCS Card.
- Previous airside or airport experience.
- Experience with joint sealing and concrete repair systems.
- CPCS, NPORS or other relevant plant qualifications.
- First Aid, CAT & Genny or other construction-related certifications.
