The Role
Working alongside experienced fabricators, welders and steel erectors, you will support the manufacture, assembly and installation of a wide range of steelwork products and structures. You will rotate through various aspects of the business to develop your skills and understanding of the entire fabrication and installation process, from workshop manufacture through to site installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the fabrication and assembly of steel structures and engineering components.
- Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Measure, mark out, cut, drill, grind and prepare materials accurately.
- Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools under supervision.
- Support welding, fitting and finishing activities as your training progresses.
- Assist with steel erection and installation activities on projects where required.
- Help maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Follow all health, safety and quality procedures.
- Carry out basic quality checks on completed work.
- Safely handle materials, equipment and components.
- Support experienced team members with day‑to‑day workshop and site activities.
- Attend college and apprenticeship training programmes as required.

The team delivers specialist steel fabrication and installation solutions for rail, infrastructure and civil engineering projects throughout the UK. We support major internal projects as well as a growing external client base, manufacturing and installing a wide range of structures including bridges, platforms, staircases, access structures, steelwork components and bespoke engineering solutions.
