Opportunity
We’re looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team in Warrington.
This role offers the opportunity to develop your career in a supportive, fast‑paced environment, working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers on live infrastructure projects.
With the role you will support the commercial and financial management of works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.
Responsibilities
- Support Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors with procurement, subcontractor management and payments
- Assist in preparing interim valuations, final accounts and change control processes
- Contribute to Cost Value Reports (CVRs), forecasts and project reporting
- Collate and analyse site data to track costs and project performance
- Build strong relationships with operational teams, subcontractors and stakeholders
- Attend site visits to gain hands‑on understanding of project delivery and identify changes
- Support the commercial team in delivering projects on time and within budget
Qualifications
- Experience as a Trainee, Graduate or Assistant Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering or construction environment
- A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (HNC/HND/Degree)
- Exposure to infrastructure or civils projects (rail experience desirable but not essential)
- Some knowledge of NEC or Network Rail contracts
- Strong communication, organisation, and analytical skills
- A proactive mindset and willingness to learn and develop
