We are a highly specialized engineering consultancy focusing on power electronics and control systems with occasional radio frequency (RF) work and high-voltage design. We are a small, tight-knit team and we enjoy handling incredibly diverse and unusual projects like parts for quantum computers or 100-kilowatt oil well heating systems, but also straightforward consumer electronics and client advice. We don't do corporate bureaucracy, endless meetings, or client-facing politics. We handle the business and client management sides so you can focus 100% of your energy on building and testing cool hardware.
You will be doing straightforward electronics design under the supervision of the team, with the option to attempt more complicated work if/when you feel more comfortable. This is a pure, hands-on engineering role involving circuit design, simulation, PCB layout, prototyping, and bench testing. This is a perfect role for a mid-level engineer who genuinely loves electronics and wants to rapidly expand their technical depth without being forced into a management or client-handling track.
- Create schematics from scratch and implement design revisions on existing hardware.
- Model and simulate electronic circuits using SPICE tools.
- Conduct hands-on bench testing, debugging, and mechanical assembly in our Wandsworth lab.
- Optional Field Work: Opportunities for occasional, hands-on site work abroad (e.g., a recent project involved heading into the jungle in Gabon to test a prototype of an oil well heating system).
A degree in electrical/electronic engineering (or equivalent).
- Solid foundational knowledge of analog/digital circuits, schematic capture, and PCB workflows.
- Hands-on: Strong practical skills in building and troubleshooting hardware, using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters), and testing hardware.
- EMC compliance testing.
- Power electronics.
True variety in your work with the opportunity to get hands-on experience with unusual and high-performance electronics.
A flat, relaxed, and highly supportive small-office culture.
