Providing to the Research Director by managing the day-to-day functions of the department.
This includes overseeing the delivery of essential performance reports, both linear and non-linear, ensuring audience enquiries are effectively answered.
Key point of contact on linear channel brands, providing regular and insightful analysis to departments to aid audience growth, performance and evolution.
They will also lead and operate a range of in depth qualitative / quantitative research and conduct forecasting on potential growth opportunities across linear and non-linear.
- Oversee the design and delivery process of daily, weekly and monthly reporting on channel performance to make sure all relevant departments are fully informed.
- Ensure that the company is fully educated on non-linear services/products by collating and distributing reports, presenting updates and organising talks from respected external sources to ensure that the Company is best placed to exploit opportunities beyond linear.
- Implement and distribute reporting and updates on the performance of non-linear content on AVOD / FAST platforms.
- Regularly consulting with channel teams reporting on channel performance, updating on competitive landscape dynamics and presenting key in depth research from qualitative and quantitative sources.
- Continue to advance the data automation processes for linear and non-linear to deliver more efficient, sophisticated and in-depth reports to the Company.

Job Functional Knowledge
In-depth understanding of concepts and principles within audience reporting, basic knowledge of a wide variety of other related disciplines within the media industry.
Must have an informed knowledge of the specific tasks, procedures, systems and theories used to analyse channel performance and conduct qualitative and quantitative research projects.
Strong understanding of data reporting, automation, and presentation systems used to collate and distribute research and insight.
General understanding of the processes used in other departments to tailor and direct research that will help to improve audience performance: including but not limited to an understanding of how marketing campaigns are formulated, how schedules are constructed, how sponsorship idents are placed and complied, are all essential to analyse their effectiveness and financial returns.
Strong technical ability with specific industry analytic tools – advanced knowledge of audience analysis tools, advanced spreadsheet ability (Techedge, Power BI, Excel).
Strong presentation skills and use of business intelligence systems.
Practical experience of both quantitative and qualitative research techniques.
Business Expertise
In-depth knowledge of how multiple functions and departments contribute to achieving business objectives, and of industry/direct competitors' strategies.
This includes understanding the workflow and integration of internal business units to provide them with the research they need.
Knowledge of clients, competitors, markets, technological developments, overall economic, commercial and political issues to provide comprehensive analysis of Company performance and identify new avenues for growth.
Knowledge of TV audience measurement systems as well as understanding of TV advertising trading mechanisms.
