Responsibilities
- Working as part of a team, with an Emergency Care Assistant.
- Providing lifesaving treatment and stabilising patients, preparing them for transporting.
- Using your own appropriate knowledge and skills to make judgements and treatment following your level of training and competency.
- Responding to operational requirements in a safe and efficient way as directed by the Emergency Operations Centre.
- Driving all types of approved Ambulance Service vehicles under normal and emergency (blue light) conditions in accordance with road traffic law.
Role Requirements
- Hold a UK manual \’Category B\’ driving licence for at least 1 year and no more than 6 points on your licence, as well as being over the age of 23 (for insurance purposes).
- You will hold a paramedic qualification, be on the HCPC register and hold an emergency driving qualification.
- Physical fitness is important in this role as there is sometimes a requirement to reach inaccessible patients in a hurry, carry out manual handling and CPR.
- Have a warm and caring personality with the ability to connect with people.
- Lastly, you will have quality references covering the last three years of employment history and a satisfactory, enhanced DBS check.
