What Will You Be Doing
You will be working as part of a team to provide a professional and caring service to all patients.
- Providing the highest standards of clinical and personal care within the inter-hospital and pre-hospital environment, within your scope of practice.
- Responding to operational requirements in a safe and efficient way as directed by the Emergency Control Centre.
- Responding to the clinical requirements of the patient following directions from a senior clinician on scene or remotely as per the clinical guidelines/protocols.
- Supporting the lead clinician by providing effective clinical care using appropriate knowledge and skills to assist them with making professional judgements, conducting diagnostic procedures, and providing safe and effective treatments.
- Driving all types of approved Ambulance Service vehicles under normal and emergency (blue light) conditions in accordance with road traffic law.
Role Requirements
- Hold a UK manual ‘Category B’ driving licence for at least 1 year and no more than 6 points on your license.
- You will hold a FREC 4 or equivalent qualification and an emergency driving qualification.
- Physical fitness is important in this role as there is sometimes a requirement to reach inaccessible patients in a hurry, carry out manual handling and CPR.
- Have a warm and caring personality with the ability to connect with people.
- Lastly, you will have quality references covering the last three years of employment history and a satisfactory, enhanced DBS check.
