We are seeking an experienced, hands-on management couple to lead the day-to-day operations of our charming small boutique hotel located in a beautiful coastal setting for the 2027 season (Operational March - October, with an option to stay on for the closed winter season). This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality-focused couple who enjoy guest interaction, creating memorable experiences, and managing a relaxed yet professional hotel environment.

About the Role

This position is ideally suited to a hospitality-focused couple where:

  • One partner will lead front-of-house operations and business administration
  • The other partner will take responsibility for the kitchen, preparing and cooking breakfasts, cream teas and evening meals for guests

Together, you will oversee the smooth daily running of the hotel while delivering a relaxed, high-quality guest experience.

Working Hours

  • 7 days a week
  • Split shifts
  • Early breakfast starts
  • Evening service
  • Bar and check in 3pm - 10pm
  • Being on-site available even when not actively working
  • Busy seasonal workloads

Front of House & Operations Responsibilities

  • Guest reception and hosting
  • Managing and operating the hotel bar and restaurant
  • Reservations and booking management
  • Guest communications and online enquiries
  • Housekeeping supervision and quality control
  • Staff recruitment, coordination, management, and scheduling
  • Financial administration and reporting
  • Supplier management and stock control
  • Property presentation and operational oversight

Chef Responsibilities

  • Kitchen organisation and food hygiene compliance
  • Ordering and managing kitchen supplies
  • Preparing and serving fresh daily breakfasts
  • Planning and preparing evening meals for guests
  • Preparing and baking scones for the cream teas
  • Menu planning and seasonal food presentation
  • Supplier management and stock control
  • Creating a welcoming dining experience that complements the boutique hotel atmosphere

About You

We are looking for a couple who are:

  • Extremely experienced in running a hotel or guest house and a restaurant
  • Used to working together under pressure
  • Strong communicators with exceptional customer experience skills
  • Passionate about going above and beyond for guests on a daily basis
  • Friendly, professional, and highly organised
  • Comfortable working independently and as a team
  • Practical, adaptable, and solutions-oriented
  • Able to manage a relaxed coastal lifestyle while maintaining high standards

The position is for two adults only, no children, no pets and non smokers.

Requirements

This position is only suitable for a couple without children or pets that are non-smokers. These requirements are essential and non-negotiable due to the nature of the live-in accommodation and hotel environment.

  • Previous hospitality and hotel/guest house management experience is absolutely essential, applicants without this will not be considered
  • Exceptional customer experience and guest care standards
  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Valid drivers licence and own vehicle essential
  • Ability to live on-site as this is a live-in management position
  • Legal right to work in the relevant country
