This is a full-time position based at our Southampton office.
The Role
This position is for a Junior Maritime Operations Officer (JMOO) located in Southampton. The post sits within the Operations Department and will report to the Senior Maritime Officer. The JMOO's primary responsibilities will be providing operational support to the different operational regions, West Africa, Indian Ocean, and Digital working alongside a mentor within each region to understand and deliver all aspects of operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the management and coordination of operational activities in consultation with the Operations Managers and Maritime Operations Officers.
- Managing the operations inbox including, filing, escalating, and responding to emails.
- Updating operational databases.
- Communicating with sub-contractors, agents, and Masters.
- Collaboration across all operational departments.
- Watchkeeping and monitoring vessels.
- Support the regional operations rota.
Qualifications and skills
- A degree in any discipline, however a maritime field is desirable.
- An interest or experience in the maritime industry.
- Strong administration skills, with the ability to receive and assimilate a variety of information.
- The capability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Accustomed to working efficiently under pressure in challenging situations.
Terms and Conditions
- Salary: commensurate with experience
- Location: Global Operations Centre, Southampton, UK
- Hours: Eight-hour shifts, cover a 24-hour rota, to include nights and weekends.
