Ambrey is a maritime security services specialist. Established in 2010 to create a security company that was more dynamic and creative than most traditional security firms, we have a fresh approach that puts the client’s needs first. With over 150 permanent staff and 7 global office locations, we are the market leader in providing safety, security, marine and risk management services to the Shipping, Oil & Gas, and Offshore industries.
This position, based at our Southampton office, is for a full-time duty Analyst. Their primary responsibilities will be researching, analysing and logging maritime security events, and providing our maritime operations with situational awareness of security threats. The post will report to an Analyst.
Responsibilities- Event and indicator collection per the scheduled searches and event reports.
- Event analysis.
- Event priority identification.
- Independent normal or low-priority event dissemination.
- Priority event escalation.
- Communicating events with the Guardian operations team.
- Co-ordinating information exchanges with relevant stakeholders.
- Bachelors in a related field such as Criminology, History, International Relations, Political Science or Security Studies.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to communicate succinctly and clearly to non-native English speakers.
- The capability to work independently and set priorities.
- Understanding of how to assess information validity and source reliability.
- Open-source intelligence and/or Imagery intelligence training.
- Ability to collaborate with peers.
- Interest in maritime security and political risk.
Terms and conditions: Based in Ambrey’s Global Operations Centre in Southampton, UK. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. This role will not be sponsored. Duty rota: four days on, four days off, rotating through the following shifts: Day (08:00-16:30), Late (16:00-00:30), and Early (00:00-08:30). Salary: starting salary with an adjustment after probation and meeting success criteria. Job type: Full-time, permanent.
