We’re seeking a strategic, commercially-savvy PR Director (Brand & Reputation) to join our senior team and elevate AMBITIOUS to the next level.

AMBITIOUS is an independent strategic communications agency serving various B2B sectors, offering strategic comms consultancy, digital communications, and content services. With a team of 25, we have ambitious growth plans. This hire is crucial to those plans.

About the role:

This is a newly created leadership position for someone experienced in leading multi-channel, insight-led campaigns focused on brand & reputation. You will lead cross-channel brand communications and corporate reputation campaigns for UK and global clients, from developing winning pitches to delivering standout campaigns and shaping sector offerings.

You will play a key role in growing a successful client portfolio, managing & reporting on a profitable P&L. You should be a natural relationship builder, a trusted advisor, and a sharp thinker who drives client impact and mentors teams to achieve results.

Ideal candidates will have a strong track record in a communications agency environment, especially within B2B & corporate sectors such as professional services, tech, or healthcare. Experience should include multi-channel campaign delivery, content strategy, reputation management, and client portfolio leadership, including business development and C-suite relationships.

You should be confident in inspiring teams, managing operational performance, and presenting innovative ideas to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the delivery of high-impact, quality communications campaigns (UK & international) driven by insights, ensuring client expectations are exceeded.
  • Shape and lead a business sector within the agency, growing the client portfolio.
  • Manage a profitable P&L, maintaining a healthy pipeline and directing team resources.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Inspire and mentor the team, fostering a creative and commercial culture.
  • Participate in the senior team to help deliver business strategy, innovate, and develop new ideas.

Experience required:

  • Proven success in growing a client portfolio within a communications agency, particularly with B2B and corporate clients, including experience in new business pitches.

  • Skills in content strategy, campaign management, impact measurement, and reputation management.
  • Excellent at building senior client relationships and working in a consultancy environment.
  • Experience in business development, creating opportunities, and securing new revenue.
  • Track record of leading innovative B2B/corporate campaigns that generate measurable impact.
  • Leadership experience in managing and developing teams.
