Our client is a well-established boutique tour operator specialising in multi-day, tailor-made Italy itineraries for discerning travellers. Known for delivering custom experiences of exceptional quality, they combine expert destination knowledge with a highly personal approach that keeps clients returning again and again. As the business continues to grow, they are now seeking a Sales Manager / Italy Tours Lead to step in and take ownership of the sales and booking team — ensuring outstanding client outcomes while driving performance, consistency and continuous improvement across the operation.
The Role
- In this role, you will lead the sales and booking team, taking full ownership of client relationships and day-to-day operations while ensuring every itinerary reflects the exceptional quality the business is known for.
- Manage client enquiries and build strong, lasting client relationships.
- Create bespoke multi-day Italy itineraries tailored to individual client needs.
- Handle requests, itineraries and bookings from travel agents.
- Produce customised itinerary content and supporting documentation.
- Manage relationships with guides and suppliers across Italy.
- Book guides, tickets and service providers.
- Source and book accommodation for clients.
- Lead, support and develop the sales and booking team.
Experience Required
- Minimum five years’ experience in a travel agent or tour operator environment.
- Previous experience in a similar Italy tour operator role, providing bespoke itineraries for high-level clients including transfers, tours and accommodation.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong numerical ability.
- Self-starter who works effectively without close supervision.
- Able to learn new operating systems quickly.
- Flexible with working hours — US-based clients may require contact outside standard UK hours.
- Adaptable under pressure with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Right to work in the UK.
