Our client is a well-established name in the travel industry, known for the quality of the holidays they design and the standard of service they deliver. Sustainability and responsible travel are genuine priorities for them β they see it as one of the strongest levers they have for protecting the destinations they operate in and building long-term trust with their customers. They are now seeking a Sustainability & ESG Executive to take ownership of day-to-day ESG reporting and carbon accounting, and to play a key role in shaping how the business delivers its sustainability strategy for the long term.
In this role, you will be the operational engine of the sustainability strategy, turning data and reporting into clear action across the business:
- Own and maintain the ESG dashboard, keeping carbon emissions data accurate and audit-ready
- Lead the annual collation and submission of ESG data to meet reporting deadlines
- Calculate and report Scope 1 and 2 emissions, laying the groundwork for Scope 3
- Track progress against sustainability KPIs, flagging risks and opportunities
- Coordinate and help chair quarterly sustainability governance meetings
- Lead production of the annual Impact Report, drawing on input from across the business
- Produce board-ready reporting packs and updates for senior stakeholders
- Work with suppliers to embed sustainable practice and improve emissions data
- Head up the internal sustainability volunteer team, coordinating activity and campaigns
- Monitor emerging ESG regulation and frameworks relevant to travel, advising on implications
Experience Required:
- Experience in a sustainability, ESG or responsible business role
- Demonstrable understanding of ESG frameworks and practical carbon accounting
- Experience producing data for external stakeholders to defined deadlines and evidencing standards
- Experience contributing to sustainability or impact reports, or board-level materials
- Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel and confidence working with complex data sets
- Excellent written communication β able to write with equal credibility for a board pack and a customer-facing page
- Confident working with initiative across departments, without formal authority over stakeholders
