We are looking for a proactive, highly skilled and hands-on Multi-Skilled Engineer to play a vital role in keeping our clients operations running safely, efficiently and reliably.
The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, have a strong engineering background and be confident diagnosing faults, carrying out preventative maintenance and finding practical solutions to keep downtime to an absolute minimum.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of equipment.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with maintenance schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
- Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns and engineering faults.
- Diagnose faults, identify root causes and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager and wider operations team to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Identify potential problems before they lead to breakdowns and recommend preventative solutions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records, reports and documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reliability and reduce downtime.
- Assist with engineering projects, equipment upgrades, modifications and new installations.
- Ensure all engineering activities are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Support compliance with health and safety, welfare, hygiene and biosecurity standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional engineering environment.
Essential Requirements
- Recognised Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering qualification – Level 4 or above in at least one discipline.
- Strong practical engineering and fault-finding skills.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- A responsible, reliable and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high engineering standards.
- Ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.
- Ability to remain calm and focused when responding to breakdowns or operational issues.
