Salary & Shift Pattern
- Shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off rotation
- 6:00am – 6:00pm
- 6:00pm – 6:00am
- Overtime available at 1.5x basic rate
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will play a key role in safely packing and transferring processed (extruded) pet food products to the required finished standard. This role combines packing line operation, machine setting, and product transfer using FLT equipment, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety at all times.
Key Deliverables
- Leave work in the same condition you arrived (safety-first mindset)
- Pack and palletise safe, high-quality product right first time in a clean, controlled environment
- Maximise efficiency by reducing waste, maintaining asset speeds, and resolving issues proactively
- Escalate downtime effectively to shift engineers for timely resolution
- Work collaboratively with your team and under the direction of leadership
Main Duties
- Operate packing lines including product feed, bagging, technical checks, and palletisation
- Transfer finished goods to the warehouse using FLT (Forklift Truck)
- Set up products and adjust machine settings to optimise performance and efficiency
- Carry out basic maintenance activities once trained, working alongside shift engineers
- Create and manage stock (finished goods and WIP) using the CEMEX system
- Handle waste: capture, segregate, and transfer for rework
- Maintain high housekeeping standards through “clean as you go” practices
- Support wider site cleaning activities when required
Requirements, Experience & Person Specification
- Valid FLT licence (essential)
- Food Safety Level 2 (preferred)
- Awareness of BRC standards
- IOSH Working Safely (desirable)
- Basic understanding of Continuous Improvement (CI) tools and techniques
