Are you an experienced Mechanical Technician or Mechanical Fitter looking for a stable, long-term opportunity with a leading industrial manufacturer?
We're looking for a skilled, hands‑on engineer to join our clients maintenance team, playing a key role in keeping our plant running safely, efficiently, and reliably.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast‑paced industrial environment where no two days are the same.
This is a days-based position , with weekend working on a rotational basis during operational periods.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across the site.
- Replacing and inspecting industrial valves.
- Removing, installing, and maintaining process pipework.
- Maintaining conveying systems, including tracking, roller replacements, and cover fitting.
- Replacing bearings and carrying out mechanical repairs.
- Pump installation and precision alignment.
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and implementing effective repairs.
- Supporting plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Working safely in line with company procedures and engineering best practices.
- Collaborating with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime.
What We're Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), supported by a recognised apprenticeship.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, process, food, feed, or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical maintenance and fault‑finding skills.
- Experience working on pumps, bearings, pipework, conveyors, valves, and rotating equipment.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to prioritise workloads.
- A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
- Able to work independently and as part of a multi‑disciplined engineering team.
- Good understanding of health, safety, and engineering standards within an industrial environment.
