About the Role
Ambitions Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing client for an Assistant Section Manager – Electrical / Utilities / Site Services Engineer. Key Responsibilities
- Supporting and maintaining PLC control systems
- Monitoring and controlling site utility systems
- Working with variable speed drives
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
- Conducting fault finding and diagnostics
- Producing basic reports
- Attending site at weekends (as required) to support production start-up
Experience Required
Essential: Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment
Desirable:
- Experience with:
- PLC systems
- Variable speed drives
- Compressors and boilers
- Water treatment plants
- Fire sprinkler systems
Qualifications
Essential: City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering
Desirable: HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations

Working Hours
Standard hours (3 weeks per month): 8:00am – 4:00pm or 7:00am – 3:00pm (Monday–Friday)
Shift cover (1 week per month): 6:00am – 2:00pm or 2:00pm – 10:00pm. Includes weekend site attendance to ensure production readiness.
Call-Out Rota
Required to participate in a monthly call-out rota. Includes weekday shift cover and weekend site visits when required. Paid via call-out allowance plus a minimum of 3 hours per call.
Salary & Benefits
Basic Salary: £34,814
Shift Allowance: £2,478
Call-Out Allowance: £3,892
Guaranteed Salary: £41,184 per annum
Overtime Available: OTE £50,000+
