The Mechanical Contracts Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical, plumbing, and building services projects with values ranging from £50k to £5 million. The role requires close collaboration with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing procurement processes, including development of technical specifications, preparation and review of drawings, plant and equipment schedules, and associated project documentation.
- Managing sub-contractors, site activities, procurement, and supplier ordering.
- Attending site meetings and resolving technical, coordination, and site-related issues.
- Organising commissioning activities and compiling handover documentation.
- Ensuring the timely and successful delivery of all assigned projects.
- Managing and coordinating interfaces between mechanical, electrical, and other trades.
- Using AutoCAD to develop, review, and coordinate drawings.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in procurement, cost management, and commercial control.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and deliver on programme.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services systems.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- A team-oriented approach with the ability to work effectively within a wider MEP team.
