We are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established electro-mechanical engineering company in Grantham. The business specialises in the repair and servicing of rotating equipment such as electric motors, pumps, and gearboxes, and offers strong long-term career prospects.
The Role
You will be responsible for repairing, servicing, and overhauling electro-mechanical equipment in a busy workshop environment. The role involves working to deadlines, maintaining high-quality standards, completing job documentation, and adhering to health and safety procedures while collaborating with a skilled team.
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience in an electro-mechanical environment (desirable)
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Proactive, hands-on approach
- Flexibility for shifts and overtime
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
Pay and Benefits
- £12.77 to £13.33 per hour depending on experience
- Shift bonuses: Early up to £69.58, Late up to £85.28
- Overtime: 1.33x (first 2 hours), 1.5x thereafter (Mon–Fri), 1.5x Saturday, double time Sunday
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Company pension
- PPE and tools provided
Working Hours
- Day Shift: 07:30 – 16:15 (Mon–Thu), 07:30 – 12:30 (Fri)
- Early Shift: 06:00 – 14:15 (Mon–Thu), 06:00 – 12:30 (Fri)
- Late Shift: 13:15 – 23:15 (Mon–Wed), 13:30 – 22:30 (Thu)
- 37–38 hours per week
