A well-established logistics company is currently seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join its busy facility in Grantham. This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional fleet maintenance team supporting a modern HGV fleet within a fast-paced transport environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring vehicles remain compliant, safe, and operational, while maintaining the high standards expected within a professional logistics operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Servicing and maintaining a modern fleet of HGV vehicles and trailers
- Carrying out MOT preparation
- Performing 6, 8 and 10 weekly safety inspections
- Diagnosing and carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs
- Completing inspection and maintenance reports accurately and on time
- Ordering parts and managing required spares
- Supporting general workshop maintenance and fleet reliability
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working in a similar HGV Technician / Heavy Vehicle workshop role
- Valid C+E (Class 1) driving licence
- Strong knowledge of HGV mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience with Scania, DAF or Mercedes tractor units is desirable
- Experience with tail lifts is beneficial (training can be provided)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, time-critical workshop environment
