Overview

We are recruiting for a Health, Safety & Compliance Officer to join a well-established transport and logistics business based in Grantham. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to take ownership of HSE and compliance processes, ensuring the company operates to the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee compliance with all Health & Safety, environmental, and transport legislation.
  • Carry out risk assessments, site inspections, and accident/incident investigations.
  • Maintain and update company policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
  • Deliver training, inductions, and toolbox talks to promote a positive HSE culture.
  • Monitor and manage driver compliance, including tachographs, working time regulations, and vehicle checks.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure the business meets statutory and industry requirements.
  • Support and advise management on continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety or Compliance role, ideally within transport, logistics, or manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of transport compliance regulations (DVSA, tachographs, WTD).
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
