Do you hold a COTC qualification, or are you currently working towards one?
We're recruiting for an established business seeking a capable and hands-on Operations Manager to lead a busy site, develop its supervisory team and drive operational performance.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day operations, lead a sizeable workforce and play a key role in maintaining high standards of safety, environmental compliance and efficiency.
Reporting directly to senior management, you'll oversee approximately 30β40 operatives across two shifts, working through four supervisors responsible for different operational areas.
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading, motivating and developing four operational supervisors and their teams.
- Overseeing day-to-day site operations across a multi-shift environment.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant environmental permits, waste management regulations and operational procedures.
- Taking responsibility for the site's technical competence requirements.
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety, environmental compliance and housekeeping.
- Monitoring productivity, performance and resource allocation, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Managing operational challenges, investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions.
- Working closely with senior management to deliver business objectives and continuous improvement.
About you
We're looking for an experienced operational leader who understands the demands of managing a busy, regulated site and can bring strong leadership, organisation and commercial awareness to the role.
You'll will have:
- Experience managing operations within waste management, recycling, industrial processing or a similar environment.
- Experience leading supervisors and a sizeable operational workforce.
- A good understanding of environmental compliance, health and safety and operational procedures.
- Experience managing shift-based teams and maintaining consistent site standards.
- Strong communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
A Certificate of Technical Competence (COTC), relevant WAMITAB qualification or equivalent operator competence qualification is highly desirable.
Candidates already qualified and those currently studying towards a relevant qualification are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the site's technical competence arrangements, so the relevance of any existing or ongoing qualification will be important.
If you're an experienced operations professional with a background in waste or a similar regulated environment, and you hold or are working towards your COTC, we'd love to hear from you.
