We’re working with a growing SME in the Grantham area who are entering an exciting phase of investment, change and development across their finance function. At present, the business relies on external accountants to produce quarterly financial information. They are now bringing this function in-house and building a more structured, timely and insightful monthly reporting process.

As the new Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal part in establishing and shaping that internal finance function, taking ownership of management accounts while also helping to design and improve reporting, processes and financial controls as the business evolves. Alongside this, the business is also implementing a new ERP system, meaning you will be closely involved in shaping finance processes, reporting structures and ensuring strong data integrity throughout the transition.

Key duties:
  • Financial Reporting & Management Accounts
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Business Support
  • Systems, Controls & Process Improvement
  • Finance Operations & Support

We are looking for a hands-on finance manager who thrives in a developing SME environment and enjoys building structure, improving processes and getting involved in the detail.

You will have:
  • Experience in a Management Accountant / Finance Manager within SME or manufacturing
  • Strong month-end and management reporting experience
  • Confidence with budgeting, forecasting and cashflow
  • Strong Excel and finance system skills (Sage, Xero, SAP or similar)
  • Experience working in SMEs or fast-moving environments
  • A proactive, detail-focused and commercially aware mindset
  • Confidence working independently and improving processes from scratch

This is a rare opportunity to join a business at a genuine point of change and investment. You will be instrumental in:

  • Building and shaping the internal finance function
  • Moving reporting from external to fully in-house
  • Supporting a full ERP system implementation
  • Improving financial visibility and decision-making across the business
Benefits:
  • Employee-owned business (genuine involvement and long-term stability, plus bonus)
  • Private healthcare (including partner cover)
  • Local gym membership
  • Electric car scheme with home/workplace charging
  • 3% employer pension contribution
  • Regular team social events

If you’re looking for a role where you can genuinely shape how finance operates within a growing SME and be part of a key transformation phase, we’d love to hear from you.
