Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded individual looking to start a career in business development and technical sales. You will spend the first 3 months gaining hands-on experience with industrial machinery, learning products inside out, before moving into a proactive sales and business development role. The position combines product knowledge, lead generation, and customer engagement, providing a strong foundation for a career in technical sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Spend initial 3 months on the workshop/factory floor learning machinery, operations, and technical specifications.
- Research and generate new leads through cold calling, targeting local SMEs, builders, landscapers, and plant hire companies.
- Qualify leads and manage opportunities through the sales pipeline.
- Conduct product demonstrations at customer sites when required.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and distributors.
- Understand customer needs and recommend suitable machinery solutions.
- Support marketing and sales campaigns to promote products and services.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Technically minded with an interest in machinery, manufacturing, or construction equipment.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel across the UK.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive, comfortable making cold calls and identifying new business opportunities.
