Due to continued investment and expansion, we are looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team at an exciting time for the business.
This role would suit an engineer who holds an electrical qualification and has experience working on industrial machinery, regardless of whether their background is electrically or mechanically biased.
The successful candidate will support the engineering function while developing their skills across both disciplines.
You will work closely with the existing engineering team, providing electrical support where required while receiving training and development to further enhance your mechanical knowledge and become a truly multi-skilled engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a range of industrial production machinery.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
- Support production by minimising downtime and ensuring equipment reliability.
- Assist with continuous improvement projects and engineering upgrades.
- Work collaboratively with the wider engineering team to improve site performance.
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
About You
- Hold a recognised electrical qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or equivalent).
- Experience maintaining industrial or manufacturing machinery.
- Comfortable fault-finding on electrical systems and controls.
- Mechanical maintenance experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Keen to learn, develop and broaden your engineering skill set.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Manufacturing, food production or FMCG experience would be beneficial.
- Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, days-based role.
- Future plans to introduce an early and late shift rotation as the business continues to grow.
- Participation in an on-call rota shared between three engineers.
- Weekend call-outs are infrequent and typically involve straightforward machinery breakdowns, usually taking between 1-3 hours to resolve.
