The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Multi-Skilled Engineer to play a key role in maintaining and improving manufacturing operations during night shifts. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be the senior engineering presence on shift, providing technical support, leading maintenance activities, and ensuring equipment reliability across the site. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys fault finding, continuous improvement, and taking ownership of engineering performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritise maintenance and breakdown activities to maximise equipment uptime.
- Act as the senior engineering point of contact during night shifts.
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production and site services equipment.
- Perform fault finding, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to minimise repeat failures.
- Support and improve Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records through the CMMS system.
- Ensure effective stock control and management of engineering spares.
- Identify and implement engineering improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and OEE.
- Support capital projects and the installation of new equipment.
- Work closely with production teams to deliver practical engineering solutions.
- Drive initiatives focused on reducing waste, energy consumption, and maintenance costs.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and site procedures.
- Support audit requirements and maintain statutory compliance, including PUWER, LOLER, and DSEAR regulations.

About You
- Experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.

- Previous experience leading or supervising engineering activities.
- Time-served apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Confident decision-maker with strong communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and focused on delivering operational excellence.
