About the Role: We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-moving, family-run food production business. You’ll play a key role in keeping modern packing, grain processing, milling, and beverage production equipment running efficiently, ensuring maximum uptime and minimal disruption for internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) across all equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, including PLC, instrumentation, and HMI/SCADA systems.
- Ensure all site PMs and legal checks are completed on schedule.
- Follow and enforce Health & Safety procedures, maintaining compliance with current legislative standards.
- Manage parts inventory, ordering essential items in advance to avoid delays.
- Suggest and implement improvements to production processes.
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks as required by colleagues.
Skills & Experience:
- Mechanical/electrical qualification or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience working on modern food manufacturing equipment.
- Strong fault-finding skills, particularly with PLCs and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of steam pipework, boilers (BOAS certification), HVAC, and chillers is advantageous.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptable team player able to thrive in a dynamic, family-run environment.
