Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 13:30 – 22:00

About the Role: We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-moving, family-run food production business. You’ll play a key role in keeping modern packing, grain processing, milling, and beverage production equipment running efficiently, ensuring maximum uptime and minimal disruption for internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) across all equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, including PLC, instrumentation, and HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Ensure all site PMs and legal checks are completed on schedule.
  • Follow and enforce Health & Safety procedures, maintaining compliance with current legislative standards.
  • Manage parts inventory, ordering essential items in advance to avoid delays.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to production processes.
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as required by colleagues.

Skills & Experience:

  • Mechanical/electrical qualification or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience working on modern food manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong fault-finding skills, particularly with PLCs and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of steam pipework, boilers (BOAS certification), HVAC, and chillers is advantageous.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptable team player able to thrive in a dynamic, family-run environment.
