We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join a busy and fast-paced finance team. This role will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accurate processing of transactions and maintaining strong financial controls.

The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Processing purchase invoices and matching to purchase orders
  • Raising and issuing sales invoices
  • Assisting with credit control, including chasing outstanding payments
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Supporting bank reconciliations
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers
  • Assisting with month-end processes and reporting
  • Handling finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting the wider finance team with administrative tasks
Skills & Experience Required
  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts role (preferred)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Good knowledge of accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
Desirable
  • AAT qualification (or working towards)
  • Experience in a high-volume or service-based environment
