Ambition is delighted to be recruiting a Social Housing Audit Manager for a leading professional services firm with a strong and growing presence in the social purpose and not‑for‑profit sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an Audit Manager who is passionate about social impact and wants to develop (or continue to build) a specialism in Social Housing, while working with high‑profile and purpose‑driven organisations. Flexible and part‑time working arrangements are available.
The role:
- You’ll join a nationally recognised social purpose audit team, working with a wide range of organisations including social housing providers, charities and other not‑for‑profit entities.
- The role offers scope to shape your own client portfolio, including the chance to broaden into related areas of interest alongside social housing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of external audit clients across the social housing and wider not‑for‑profit sector
- Leading multiple audit engagements from planning through to completion
- Acting as the principal point of contact for clients, delivering a proactive, year‑round service
- Coordinating audit teams to ensure work is delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard
- Preparing and presenting reports to senior management, Audit Committees and Boards
- Coaching, mentoring and developing audit team members
- Managing your own workload effectively, balancing competing deadlines and priorities
- Supporting business development activity, including proposals and presentations
- Opportunities to be involved in wider assurance and advisory work
- Participating in team initiatives, technical updates and firm‑wide training
Skills and experience required:
- Strong audit background with solid technical knowledge of auditing and accounting standards
- Experience managing audit teams and multiple assignments
- Confident communicator, comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and Boards
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- Good working knowledge of Excel and Word
- A collaborative, inclusive approach to leadership
- Experience auditing clients in the social housing and/or not‑for‑profit sector
