I am partnering with one of my well-established Law Firm clients with the search of a Management Accountant to join its Finance team. This is a broad and hands-on role supporting monthly reporting, tax compliance, budgeting, and wider financial operations. The position offers strong exposure across the business and the opportunity to work closely with both Finance and People teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce monthly KPI reports and highlight trends requiring attention
  • Prepare monthly financial and operational reports for Practice Area Leaders
  • Create detailed monthly support notes for business services expenditure
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations (accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, control accounts)
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns and reconcile against general ledger balances
  • Complete mandatory ONS submissions, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Liaise with People & Culture on payroll and benefits, post monthly payroll journals
  • Support annual budgeting and reforecasting processes
  • Assist with monthly management accounts preparation
  • Respond to ad-hoc reporting and business analysis requests

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in a management accounting or similar finance role, ideally within professional services
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Proactive, analytical and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
