I have partnered with one of my leading global law firm clients in the hire of a new Pricing Manager. This high-profile, client-facing role sits within the Commercial Finance function and partners closely with senior stakeholders across the business. This role will combine strategic pricing, leadership, and innovation and is an additional headcount role as this function continues to grow.
The Role
- Act as a trusted advisor to Partners and Business Development teams on pricing strategies for key pursuits and client opportunities.
- Structure and negotiate complex fee arrangements, including alternative fee models such as blended rates, fixed fees, capped fees, and contingent structures.
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate pricing scenarios, risks, and outcomes.
- Analyse pricing performance and profitability at matter, client, and portfolio levels, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
- Translate complex financial analysis into clear, compelling narratives for senior stakeholders.
- Lead and develop two Pricing Analysts, ensuring workload balance, quality, and professional growth.
- Support delivery of commercial training programmes for partners and fee earners.
- Participate in internal and client discussions to articulate and defend value propositions and improve negotiation outcomes.
- Contribute to pricing governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stay ahead of market developments, competitor trends, and evolving client expectations.
- Support pricing for emerging products and service models, including AI-related offerings.
About You
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a pricing role within legal, professional services, or a B2B environment.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to balance client value with profitability.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex analysis into clear narratives.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
- Accountancy qualification is advantageous.
