Ambition is recruiting a Pensions Audit Manager for a highly regarded professional services firm with a strong presence in the pensions market. This role offers the chance to work with a varied portfolio of pension scheme clients while developing leadership, client management and technical expertise in a supportive and progressive environment. Flexible working is encouraged, with a hybrid office/home setup available.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of pension scheme audit clients, reporting directly to a Partner
  • Lead statutory pension scheme audits from planning through to completion
  • Prepare audit planning, completion and findings reports
  • Take responsibility for audit delivery, budgets and deadlines
  • Act as the main point of contact for trustees and other stakeholders
  • Manage, review and mentor audit teams, supporting their ongoing development
  • Ensure audits are delivered in line with professional standards and quality requirements
  • Identify value‐add insights around governance, risk and controls
  • Lead additional pensions assurance and risk management projects, including client liaison and report writing

Skills and experience required

  • ACA, ACCA or CA qualified
  • Strong audit background with pension scheme audit experience
  • Good working knowledge of the Pensions SORP and relevant pensions regulations
  • Experience managing audits and supervising junior team members
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and competing deadlines
  • Right to work in the UK
