The Role
This individual will act as a trusted adviser to clients across a range of tax matters while collaborating with colleagues to deliver a seamless accountancy service.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the tax lead for a portfolio of SME and startup clients, advising on corporation tax, VAT, and personal tax matters.
- Review and oversee the preparation of tax computations and returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current legislation.
- Identify and deliver tax planning opportunities, including business structuring, reliefs, allowances, and tax-efficient strategies.
- Serve as the principal point of contact for client tax queries and provide practical, commercially focused advice.
- Support business owners with wider financial and operational queries where required, particularly in relation to early-stage and scaling businesses.
- Advise new clients on appropriate structures and tax considerations during onboarding.

The ideal candidate will possess
- ACA, ACCA, ATT or CTA qualification, or equivalent.
- Strong mixed tax experience spanning personal tax, corporation tax and VAT.
- Experience advising SMEs, startups, and owner-managed businesses within practice, advisory, or outsourced finance environments.
- Excellent technical knowledge combined with a commercially minded approach.
- The ability to translate complex tax concepts into clear, practical advice for business owners and non-finance professionals.
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience using accounting and tax software such as Xero, Sage, Quick Books, or similar platforms.
