We are working with a leading UK professional services firm that is continuing to invest heavily in its Indirect Tax and Global VAT Compliance offering. Due to sustained growth, they are looking to appoint a VAT Compliance Manager to play a key role in delivering high‑quality VAT compliance services to UK, EU and international clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership, international exposure and helping shape how VAT compliance services are delivered at scale.
The Role
As a VAT Compliance Manager, you will take responsibility for managing VAT compliance engagements across multiple jurisdictions. You will be a central point of contact for clients, ensuring accuracy, quality and efficiency in indirect tax reporting, while also supporting the development of junior team members. You'll work with a broad and diverse client base, gaining exposure to complex business models and international VAT requirements, and will have the opportunity to contribute to process improvement and technology‑enabled solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing end‑to‑end VAT compliance for UK, EU and international clients
- Reviewing VAT returns and indirect tax filings to ensure technical accuracy and quality
- Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients, understanding their business and VAT needs
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and efficiency within VAT compliance
- Supporting the development, mentoring and supervision of junior team members
- Contributing to the ongoing development of the firm's global VAT compliance approach
About You
- Strong background in VAT compliance, ideally with European and/or global exposure
- Interest in VAT process improvement and the use of technology to drive efficiency
- Experience managing and coaching junior team members
- Confident user of Excel and data or workflow tools such as Alteryx (or similar)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage international stakeholders
