Assistant Group Accountant to join a dynamic global professional services organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accounting professional looking to develop their career within a complex international finance environment, supporting financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, and process improvement across multiple global offices.

The Role

Working within the Group Finance and FP&A team, you will support the oversight of financial reporting and general ledger management across an international office network.

You will play a key role in ensuring consistency of accounting practices, reviewing financial submissions, supporting budgeting processes, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Group Finance Manager in working with international finance teams to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Review monthly management accounts submissions from international offices.
  • Analyse office profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and reconciliations, investigating and resolving queries where necessary.
  • Assist with monthly bank reconciliation reviews.
  • Ensure consistent general ledger posting and financial reporting practices across the organisation.
  • Prepare monthly management accounting for designated international offices, including general ledger postings and month-end reporting.
  • Develop expertise in finance systems and reporting tools to support accurate and meaningful management information.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process, including review of overhead budgets, recharge allocations, and coordination with international finance teams.
  • Support the maintenance and utilisation of budgeting and fixed asset management systems.
  • Work alongside internal audit teams to strengthen financial controls and operational processes.
  • Assist with external audit requests and the provision of supporting information.
  • Contribute to the review and improvement of financial processes, controls, and policies.
  • Produce ad hoc financial reports, analysis, and other finance-related support as required.

Qualifications

  • Part-qualified accountant with plans to complete studies in the near future.
  • Degree, AAT, A-Level qualifications, or equivalent.
  • Approximately two years' finance experience within professional services, legal services, or audit.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger management and financial controls.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical mindset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Elite 3E or a similar practice management system.
  • Experience supporting international finance operations.
