I'm working with a leading international law firm to recruit a Rates Administrator to join its Leeds-based finance operations team.

The Role

Reporting to the Rates Supervisor, you will support the administration of fee rate queries across the firm, helping to maintain accurate rate information, manage internal queries and ensure processes are followed consistently.

The role will suit someone with strong attention to detail, excellent data entry skills and an interest in finance operations within a professional services setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with data collection projects, ensuring non-standard charge-out rates, discounts and agreed fee arrangements are accurately recorded and maintained.
  • Support the transfer and maintenance of billing rules and rate sets within internal finance systems, ensuring consistency across the wider group.
  • Monitor tasks against agreed service levels, providing regular updates and escalating issues where required.
  • Review agreed rates to help ensure terms are being followed correctly.
  • Support global discount requests by preparing accurate information and supporting materials for internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the e Billing team to ensure annual rates are uploaded to relevant platforms.
  • Manage a centralised mailbox, responding to queries within agreed timeframes.
  • Assist with rate and timekeeper administration to support a smooth end-to-end billing process.

You will be organised, accurate and proactive, with the confidence to manage queries, work to deadlines and collaborate with colleagues across finance and billing teams.

You will enjoy working with data, take pride in getting things right first time and bring a positive, solutions-focused approach to your work.

Experience and Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience in a finance, billing, accounts or administration-focused role.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong data input accuracy.
  • Clear and professional communication skills.
  • Good IT skills, including confidence using Excel and Word.
  • Experience using finance systems or financial applications.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with a willingness to improve processes.
  • Collaborative team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Experience in a multi-currency or shared services environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
