This top law firm are looking for an experienced Group Tax Accountant to join their growing team.

This role will be responsible for managing tax compliance and reporting obligations across UK and international entities, while also supporting partnership tax matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with strong partnership and corporate tax experience who is looking to take ownership of established processes and play a key role in a growing international business.

Key Responsibilities as the Group Tax Accountant -

  • Partnership Tax
  • Prepare and coordinate LLP and corporate tax returns and computations with external advisers.
  • Act as a key point of contact for HMRC, overseas tax authorities, external advisers, and partners regarding tax matters.
  • Prepare annual partner tax reserve calculations.
  • Manage partner tax payment processes in conjunction with tax advisers.
  • Work closely with Partnership Accounting teams on partner tax reserves and annual statements.
  • Coordinate partner tax communications and engagement with advisers.
  • Tax Compliance & Reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax compliance processes, controls and reporting efficiency.
  • Support tax audits and VAT investigations.
  • Maintain intercompany invoicing processes.
  • Collaborate with finance colleagues to ensure tax matters are managed effectively.
  • Support UK and international VAT compliance and filings.
  • Coordinate corporate tax compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversee annual UK employment tax compliance processes, including PSA, STBV and related reporting.
  • Manage Tax Residence Certificate requests and withholding tax matters.
  • Prepare and submit withholding tax reclaims.
  • Governance & Advisory
  • Maintain and enhance the organisation's tax risk and governance framework.
  • Support tax payment forecasting and cash flow planning.
  • Research developments in UK and international tax legislation.
  • Liaise with overseas offices and advisers to ensure compliance obligations are met.
  • Assist with business-critical tax projects and initiatives.

About You

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with significant tax specialisation.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a tax compliance role.

• Strong experience preparing and reviewing

  • Partnership tax computations.
  • Partner profit allocations.
  • Partner tax reserve calculations.
  • Corporate tax returns.
  • Experience managing relationships with external tax advisers.

• Advanced Excel skills, including

  • Data analysis and management of large datasets.
  • Highly Desirable
  • Experience within a law firm, accountancy practice, or professional partnership environment.
  • Experience coordinating tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Exposure to international entity structures and cross-border tax compliance.
  • VAT compliance and reporting experience.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong technical knowledge of UK partnership taxation.
  • Ability to explain complex tax matters to non-tax stakeholders.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience engaging senior leaders and external advisers.
