I have partnered with one of my international law firm clients in the hire on a newly created Global Head of Revenue Control to lead its revenue lifecycle function across multiple jurisdictions. This is a senior leadership role responsible for optimising financial performance, improving working capital, and driving best practice across billing, credit control, and revenue reporting.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, Partners, and Operations, ensuring a consistent, efficient, and commercially focused approach to revenue management globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a global revenue control function across key international offices
  • Define and deliver a best-in-class revenue management strategy aligned with firm objectives
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on revenue performance and risk
  • Oversee the full revenue lifecycle: time recording, billing, WIP management, collections, and cash flow
  • Drive improvements in lock-up (WIP + debtors) and overall working capital performance
  • Monitor revenue KPIs and implement initiatives to improve realisation and recovery rates
  • Partner with practice groups and senior fee earners to influence billing behaviours and collections strategies
  • Provide insight, reporting, and actionable recommendations to leadership and Partners
  • Support key client relationships where complex billing or collection strategies are required
  • Ensure consistent processes, controls, and governance across all offices
  • Lead process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global team
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Drive capability development across revenue control functions
Experience needed
  • Proven experience in a senior Revenue Control / Working Capital / Finance Operations leadership role, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Deep understanding of WIP, billing, collections, and revenue recognition practices
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and Partners
  • Experience managing global or multi-jurisdictional teams
  • Demonstrated track record of improving financial performance and operational efficiency
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
