I am currently partnering with a leading international law firm with a strong global footprint that is looking to appoint an experienced Legal e-Biller to join its Finance team, based from either its Manchester or Leeds office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an e-billing professional seeking a varied role within a collaborative, high-performing environment.
You will work closely with partners, fee earners, finance colleagues and client contacts to support the accurate, timely and efficient delivery of electronic billing across a broad client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, validate and submit electronic invoices through client e-billing platforms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agreed requirements.
- Manage high-volume billing cycles, ensuring invoices are progressed within internal and client deadlines.
- Investigate and resolve invoice rejections, short payments and billing queries, coordinating amendments and resubmissions where required.
- Build strong working relationships with partners, fee earners, finance colleagues and business support teams.
- Review client billing guidelines and matter information to ensure invoices are submitted in line with specific client requirements.
- Maintain accurate billing records and ensure data is kept up to date across relevant finance and practice management systems.
- Reconcile billing data between systems, identifying discrepancies and taking appropriate action to resolve issues.
- Support month-end billing activity, reporting, accruals and wider finance deadlines.
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure a smooth end-to-end billing process from bill preparation through to successful submission.
- Monitor billing progress and proactively follow up with stakeholders to keep matters moving through the billing lifecycle.
- Prepare management information and ad hoc billing reports when required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance e-billing processes, controls and ways of working.
- Provide support and cover for colleagues during busy periods, deadlines or periods of absence.
About You
- Previous legal e-billing experience gained within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong understanding of the billing lifecycle, revenue processes and electronic invoice submission requirements.
- Experience using e-billing platforms and practice management or finance systems.
- Comfortable working in a deadline-driven, high-volume billing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to review client, matter and invoice information accurately.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and wider Microsoft Office applications.
