A leading professional services firm is expanding its Credit & Restructuring Tax practice and is seeking Directors to support continued growth in this highly active area of the market. The team advises funds, institutional investors and borrowers across a broad spectrum of credit and restructuring transactions. Work spans lending and borrowing, acquisitions and disposals of debt, and complex restructuring and rescue situations involving overleveraged businesses. The role offers exposure to high-profile, often cross-border transactions and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with key stakeholders as businesses stabilise and grow. Credit and restructuring continues to be a core part of the market across all economic cycles, with current macroeconomic conditions driving increased deal flow and complexity. Transactions are varied, bespoke and commercially focused, requiring integrated UK and international tax structuring advice.
The Team
You will join a fast-growing, collaborative team of high-performing professionals who work closely with clients to understand commercial objectives and deliver pragmatic, high-impact advice. The team operates alongside M&A, Real Estate and other specialist tax and advisory teams to provide fully joined-up solutions.
The Role
As a Director, you will play a pivotal role in both delivery and growth of the practice. Responsibilities will include:
- Advising on a wide range of tax issues across credit, restructuring and distressed transactions
- Leading client engagements and managing a portfolio of high-profile clients and projects
- Building and developing long-term client relationships, working closely with partners and global project teams
- Managing and motivating multi-disciplinary and cross-border teams in an inclusive, collaborative environment
- Contributing to business development, market profile and thought leadership in the credit and restructuring space
- Supporting the development, coaching and progression of junior team members
- Taking on leadership responsibilities within the team and contributing to its strategic direction
Candidate Profile
The firm is keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
- Strong experience in tax advisory within credit, restructuring, private equity and/or real estate fund environments
- A solid technical grounding in UK tax, with strong attention to detail and commercial judgement
- Professional qualification (ACA, ATT/CTA or equivalent), or a relevant legal background
- Proven ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly and pragmatically to senior stakeholders
- A proactive, ownership-driven approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
- A track record of developing client relationships and contributing to business development initiatives
