I am delighted to be partnering with an established boutique law firm to recruit a Credit Control Assistant based in London. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to all credit control responsibilities while developing a long-term career in legal cashiering within a prestigious legal environment.

What You'll be Assisting With:

  • Set up payment plans on the Legal payment platform, monitor instalments, and follow up promptly on any missed or delayed payments.
  • Maintain a consistently professional and courteous tone in all client communications.
  • Tag all credit-related email correspondence in the DMS to preserve a complete, auditable trail.
  • Prepare detailed case information for escalation to the Head of Finance and issue LBAs and online Money Claims once authorised.
  • Work collaboratively with Partners, Fee Earners, and the Finance team to support effective cash collection.
  • Monitor, analyse, and update the firm's aged debt report, prioritising accounts requiring urgent attention.
  • Assist with weekly credit control reporting, supplying accurate updates to the Head of Finance and Cashiers.
  • Conduct structured chasing of overdue invoices, beginning with email reminders and progressing to telephone contact when required.
  • Maintain GDPR-compliant records of all credit control activity with a high level of accuracy.
  • Provide flexible support across wider finance operations, including ad hoc tasks for the Cashiers team and Head of Finance.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage confidential information professionally.
  • Prior credit control experience is helpful but not essential for candidates who demonstrate strong motivation and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent organisation skills with the capacity to prioritise workload and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Basic proficiency in Excel and general spreadsheet functionality.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail in all administrative and financial tasks.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, or a clear willingness to develop these.
