This fantastic global law firm are looking for an experienced Senior Tax Advisor to join a global Finance function based in London. This role works closely with senior tax leadership to oversee complex international tax matters, with a particular focus on India tax compliance, Middle East tax compliance, permanent establishment risk management, and withholding tax advisory. The position offers significant international exposure, close collaboration with stakeholders across jurisdictions, and the opportunity to contribute to high‑value, strategically important tax initiatives.
Key Responsibilities in this Senior Tax Advisor role
- India Tax Compliance & Audit
- Support Indian tax compliance obligations, ensuring accurate and timely filings, disclosures, and returns
- Liaise with local advisors to meet statutory deadlines
- Review and advise on withholding tax matters associated with client payments
- Support senior leadership during tax audits
- Monitor and assess Indian tax developments and advise on impacts to the business
- Support global monitoring and management of permanent establishment risks
- Assist in assessing PE exposure arising from cross‑border activities
- Advise on mitigating PE risks linked to business initiatives and work activities
- Collaborate with tax, legal, regulatory, and finance teams to identify and manage risks proactively
- Withholding Tax
- Prepare and coordinate tax clearance applications to secure reduced withholding tax rates
- Liaise with HMRC for certificates of residence, form certifications, and other ad hoc matters
- Respond to and resolve withholding tax queries from the business and clients
- Middle East Tax Compliance
- Support corporate tax, VAT, and withholding tax compliance across Middle East jurisdictions
- Work closely with regional finance teams and senior tax stakeholders
- Other Responsibilities
- Support compliance with Corporate Criminal Offence (Failure to Prevent the Facilitation of Tax Evasion) legislation
- Assist with VAT compliance and advisory matters
Experience Required
- Proven experience in corporate tax, VAT, and withholding tax compliance and advisory
- Exposure to international tax matters and multi‑jurisdictional environments
Qualifications
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- A tax qualification such as CTA or ADIT is highly desirable
