We have partnered with one of our global law firm clients on a newly created Deputy Head of Tax hire to join their dynamic tax team. This senior leadership role will involve supporting the Head of Tax while managing complex tax matters across international projects, cross-border structures, and partnership arrangements within a global professional services network. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance, advising on international tax implications, and contributing to strategic initiatives across multiple jurisdictions. This hire has been created as succession planning for the current Head of Tax who plans to retire in the next three years.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Tax on ad hoc partnership and international projects.
- Support the existing senior tax manager team.
- Assist with tax advisory and compliance for International Managers (IMs) and LLP members across the firm's global offices.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Legal teams to assess tax risks and implement compliant solutions for international structures and projects.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and ensure alignment with the firm's internal policies.
- Support the development and implementation of tax policies for international partners, self-employed consultants, and branch employees.
- Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on the firm's international tax strategy.
- Contribute to internal training and knowledge sharing across the business.
Required Skills and Experience
- ACA/CTA qualified (or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience in international and partnership tax.
- Proven expertise in international partnership taxation and cross-border structures.
- Knowledge of transfer pricing desirable.
- Strong understanding of LLP structures and international frameworks.
- Experience in professional services or legal environments preferred.
- Excellent management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead complex projects across jurisdictions.
