An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development & Business Manager to join a market-leading international law firm and play a pivotal role in the growth and development of its highly regarded Construction practice.
Working closely with senior leadership, this is a broad, strategic role combining business development, marketing and business management responsibilities.
You'll be a trusted advisor to partners and stakeholders, helping drive sector growth, strengthen client relationships, enhance market profile and support the delivery of key business objectives.
Key responsibilities include
- Supporting the implementation of the Construction group's strategic priorities, initiatives and growth plans.
- Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and client developments to identify opportunities and inform decision-making.
- Acting as a key point of contact between sector leadership and wider business services teams.
- Developing and executing business development and client development plans.
- Driving client relationship initiatives, cross-selling opportunities and strategic growth projects.
- Supporting the development and delivery of key client account plans.
- Providing day-to-day business development support to partners and fee earners.
- Managing and developing a dedicated Business Development Executive.
- Creating and delivering integrated marketing campaigns aligned to sector priorities.
- Managing the production of marketing materials, credentials, client communications and sector-focused content.
- Overseeing directory submissions, awards programmes and profile-raising initiatives.
- Monitoring financial performance, pipeline activity and key sector metrics.
- Producing management reporting and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Contributing to budgeting, business planning and growth initiatives.
- Supporting business cases for strategic investments and lateral hiring opportunities.
- Coordinating strategic projects and ensuring delivery against agreed timelines.
The successful candidate will have
- Proven business development and marketing experience within a legal or professional services environment.
- Experience working with, or a strong understanding of, the Construction or related sectors.
- A track record of delivering successful strategic growth and client development initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business, financial and client data.
- The confidence to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills.
- Outstanding stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
- Strong commercial awareness and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
